2012 WINTER NEWSLETTER
The club would like to thank each and every member that has helped us with events, parties, dances, breakfasts/3D shoots, block shoots, trap, shoots, and all League coordinators. We would also like to thank the general membership for their support of the club by attending the events that are held. Without your support, the club would not be able to offer these events. We are looking forward to a great winter filled with the events including breakfast (held on the second Sunday of the month) block shoots, ham raffle and Easter egg hunt, dances and parties. Dates for these events will be in the calendar of events.Anyone interested in helping with any of the upcoming events, please contact a board member. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.
Membership renewals begin on October 11, 2011 through January 2012. A $5.00 late renewal fee will be charged after January 31. All members must renew by the second Tuesday in April (April 10, 2012). If you do not re-new by then, you will need to apply as a new member.
FISHING CONTESTS
Our children’s Fishing Contest is scheduled for March 31, 2012, beginning at 9:00am until 12:00pm. The kitchen will be open at 7:30am. Contest is for children and grandchildren of members only. Adult Fishing will begin at 1:00pm and continue until5:00pm. Pond will be closed to all but those involved in the contests (active and Lifetime members only).
Rules for the fishing contest are as follows:No placing of poles or other fishing equipment in order to reserve a spot. All fishing equipment must be attended at all times. The daily limit is 3 trout per day. All trout are counted toward that limit whether they are from the pond or the stream, and kept or not. No spinners allowed for the children’s or adult contest.
Adults $10.00 Children $5.00 Donation

Bass fishing is strictly catch and release until further notice.
The pond will only open to fishing contest entrants until 12:00pm on April 2, 2012. After 12:00pm the pond will be open to all active and lifetime members until April April 5, 2012, at which time it will be closed for Troutfest.
The 12th Annual Troutfest has been scheduled for April 7, 2012, beginning at 8:00am (rain or Shine) until April 21, 2012. Sign-up deadline for Trout fest March 31, 2012. A $25.00 entry fee is required, for Troutfest for any active member, lifetime member, junior member or children. OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY. Please stop by clubhouse to register. The pond will be re-open to all active and lifetime members on April 21,2012 at 6:00pm
Our Children’s Easter Egg Hunt will be held on April 1, 2012 at the clubhouse, please check the calendar of events for sign-up deadline and date of party. Children and grandchildren of members only. Age limit is 10 years old and under. All children must be registered by the deadline date. This is very important so the proper arrangements can be made for refreshments and gifts. If you would like to help with this event please contact a member of the Board.
The Trap, Rifle, and Pistol Leagues will begin soon. New shooters are always welcome. Check the Calendar of Events for starting dates
3-D ARCHERY SHOOT
3-D Archery shoots are held the second Sunday of the month in combination with our monthly breakfast. Sign-up for the shoot is at 7:00am until noon. Archers must be on reange by noon. Archers will walk on club property through the 3-D archery course, which consists of 30 targets. A warm-up area is also available.
CLUB APPAREL
Point Phillips Rod and Gun Club apparel is now for sale inside the clubhouse. Items for sale include sweaters, sweatshirts, long sleeve and short sleeve tee shirts, hats, and jackets. All items feature our deer head logo. Please stop by the clubhouse for prices and ordering information. Other items will be added in the near future.
In Closing the club would like to thank you for your continued support. Whether it is physical, emotional, mental or financial support, the support of membership is greatly appreciated and is what keeps this club going.

MONDAY THRU FRIDAY CLUB OPENS AT 5:00PM
SATURDAYS 12:00pm AND SUDAYS CLUB OPENS 12:00pm
Our kitchen is open Thursday evenings 6:00pm to 9:00pm Friday and Saturday evenings 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
Point Phillips Rod & Gun Club Range Rules
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON THE RANGES.
Shooting hours are from 10 am till dusk. Ranges are closed on special activity days (club clean up, and 3d shoots, leagues.)
Range use is for active & life club members.
Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an active or life adult member, no unsupervised children allowed on the ranges.
Allow waiting members use of the range: limit your shooting to 1/2 hour.
DO NOT: Shoot at anything but paper targets fastened to the backstops.(Shooting at cans or bottles is strictly forbidden)
DO NOT: Drive vehicles of any kind on the ranges.
DO NOT LITTER: deposit refuse(paper targets, empty casings ect.) in the drums
DO NOT:DESTROY PROPERTY: backstops, benches or traps
The ranges will be patrolled by the Fish & Game committee members.
Your membership card must be presented upon request.
NO RAPID FIRE allowed on ranges.
The Point Phillips Rod & Gun Club assumes NO RESPONSIBILITY for any injuries received on the ranges
A fine of $25.00 will be imposed for violations of each of the above rules. Failure to pay any fine could result in the loss of your membership
These ranges have been installed for the benefit of the active & life club members. All members are required to obey these rules.
