2nd Annual Youth Fishing Education DayIn the early part of 2006 the board of directors of the Delaware River Shad Fishermen's Association (DRSFA) approached our board and inquired if the Point Phillips Rod & Gun Club would be interested in hosting a Youth Fishing Education Day for children. Following a review of their very detailed agenda, our board of directors explained that we would have to get approval from our membership. After receiving the proper motions and seconds during our November 2007 general membership meeting, a vote was taken by all active and life members attending. The vote was unanimous in favor of hosting the youth conservation day in conjunction with the DRSFA. The DRSFA has a long history (Founded in 1974) in our region for preserving and enhancing the American shad population in the Delaware River and its tributaries. Any member wishing to sign up a child ages 8 to 15, or help with this event should call Dave Carl at 570-325-4336.
